LETTER: Langley writer just a little too stressed over the holidays

McGregor's column about shopping husbands was amusing, shouldn't have offended any.

LETTER: Langley writer just a little too stressed over the holidays

Dear Editor,

Me thinks Sandra Steffan is a little too stressed out from Xmas.

After reading her attack on poor Mr. McGregor [LETTERS: Holiday husband column offends, Dec. 24, Langley Times online], I was interested to read this offending story.

Let’s see… “Vacant-eyed men reduced to shells?” Oh boy.

“Exhausted, beaten down husband”? Oh he didn’t go there, did he?!

“That’s it! Get the pitchforks out, we’re storming the McGregor house!”

An amusing tongue-in-cheek article [Shopping husband will survive, Dec. 12, Langley Times] shouldn’t offend anybody.

Oh, sure there are men as Ms. Steffan points out (I count myself as one of them), but there are just as many sad-sack shmoe’s that traipse around as described.

“Yes, Dear… No, Dear… How high, Dear?”

I find it interesting that the one person who was bothered by the article, happened to be a woman.

Her argument rings hollow in my ears (or maybe that’s just wax buildup).

Regardless, perhaps a little rum in her eggnog will calm her down.
