I would like to tell you about what I did in the summer of 2018 and how I have learned from it. I took a bike outside of the local 7-Eleven not thinking of my actions and being very careless of others around me. I was a very hard kid to control, I never listened to anyone, and I did what I wanted to do. And ultimately those actions resulted in me even losing my girlfriend whom I loved very much.
Later in the summer the things I did caught up to me and the bike that I stole was reported to the police and I was taken to the police station. I went through the Nelson Police Department’s Restorative Justice Program and I noticed how much I changed and how much of a more caring person I am to my family and friends and even to the community. I would like to say for the kids going into summer: please watch your friends and make good decisions that won’t end up getting you into trouble. Have integrity and be a good member of society.
