We would like to clarify any misunderstanding. [“Hospice stolen by Fraser Health,” Tamara Jansen, letters April 19]
The Langley Hospice Society has, over the past few years, been actively working towards building a new freestanding 15-bed hospice residence for our Langley community. Funding for this project is a partnership between Fraser Health, BC Housing, BC Centre for Palliative Care and the Township of Langley, all of whom have generously committed to providing the Langley Hospice Society with grants towards the capital cost of building the new residence. The Langley Hospice Society has raised the remainder of the funds required for the capital cost of the building through the generous support of our Langley community.
We are now actively engaged in fundraising to furnish and outfit the new residence and we are looking for community support from individuals and businesses to help us raise the additional funds necessary to make our new hospice a home.
Our design plans are complete and we are hoping to commence with the construction phase soon. We invite you to check out our website www.langleyhospice.com to view the architectural design plans and find out more about the new hospice residence.
We are grateful to all of our funder partners and community donors for all of the support we have received, and continue to receive in helping us achieve our goal to build a new hospice residence for Langley, a residence that will provide a home-like environment in keeping with the Hospice Society’s ongoing commitment to ensuring access to quality hospice palliative care and support.
