Young people (age 16-30) who have a diagnosis of a mental illness are invited to join Martin House, a program of the Mental Wellness Centre #118-246 Martin St. 250-493-7338. Social activities, peer support and education about coping with the effects of mental illness compliment medical services.
Parents, school counsellors, administrators, and/or teachers just need to contact the Mental Wellness Centre to discuss what their students and schools may need in regards to recovery support.
The Mental Wellness Centre is operated by the South Okanagan Similkameen Mental Wellness Society (formerly B.C. Schizophrenia Society Penticton Branch) giving education and help for 25 years. Families helping families when a member has a mental illness.
