Letter: Meters will kill tourism in Penticton

Prime example of how paid parking kills the tourist traffic as well as locals.

I was in the Lower Mainland for Thanksgiving long weekend.

Marine Drive in White Rock has paid parking lots and meters on all the streets.  No problem finding a parking place on a dead street. Many shops closed.

Went to Fort Langley. No paid parking anywhere. Many shops, all busy. People walking  in and out of the shops and café’s.

A prime example of how paid parking kills the tourist traffic as well as locals.
