Letter: more concern over Ministry’s Interconnector

Resident worries about impact of Interconnector

Editor,

This is an open letter to City Council.

Also in reply to Michelle Sargent’s excellent letter.

Concerning the AR-1 plan for an Interconnector in Quesnel.

The proposed plan is a ridiculous site to handle the heavy traffic!

Why have the trucks, etc. come all the way down Dragon Hill and others have to go all the way up?

North Star Road is a proposed alternative and makes more sense. Why ruin a beautiful city with this traffic within its residential zone?

Especially with the news of Prince George being designated as a foreign trade zone. Doesn’t this indicate even more traffic volume?

I suppose this AR-1 would save the city money if it doesn’t have to replace the ageing bridge in the downtown. Just a thought. Wake up! The future is coming. Think ahead, for goodness’ sake!

The truckers deserve a break from all the slow downs they encounter on the south/north connectors.

The city might prove to be more attractive to tourists if less congested.
