I’m a deer. I wander through Oak Bay minding my own business.
I do my best not to cause concern to the residents around me. But I have heard through my network of other deer (and contrary to popular belief, there are not that many of us) that there is talk about culling again.
As a resident I must point out that this mayor, and his council, have a clearly misplaced set of priorities.
As I wander alone through the neighbourhood, I notice so many things that need attention: the overgrown street gutters (that are actually fine for nibbling), sidewalks with gaps, cracks or raised edges, unfinished roadwork that takes literally months to complete, overgrown public gardens (again, a delicacy of mine) or my favourite… the drain hole in Cattle Point that has been surrounded by broken warning signs for over a year.
So, deer mayor, please don’t cull us. Get a new priority.
Please don’t waste your money on us when there are clearly so many things in Oak Bay that need attention before you waste what little resources you seem to have on us.
