Dear Editor,
Remember Joanie Mitchel’s, “They paved paradise to put up a parking lot”?
We have lived in Yorkson Creek for twelve and a half years, and travel to Willowbrook and the adjacent shopping area several times per week.
I can’t say that there’s “never” been an issue with traffic, but very seldom along 208th St.
The only time 202A St. is tied up is when school is let out.
Along with the widening of 208th St. will come tree and hedge removal.
The foliage which still remains down this stretch to 72nd Ave. is really quite pleasant, when you compare it with the developed stretches further north. Especially where there are stretches of conifers planted by previous property owners several decades ago, it is really almost park-like.
Remember that, when it’s all chopped down, the ground is covered with concrete, asphalt, and high-density apartments; you might just miss it. It will all be gone too soon.
Gordie Wiens, Yorkson
