To the editor:
How is it that Ryan James Quigley commits an “unspeakable crime” [said Supreme Court Justice Alison Beames] and gets off with 12 short years in prison? I am appalled when reading the description of how he committed this crime.
In this day and age there is a lot of light shed on the topic of abuse against women. This kind of sentencing for such a heinous crime does not help this cause.
Now Mr. Quigley will have three square meals a day and live rent-free for the next 12 years [less time served]. Maybe he’ll get a free college education as well. Who am I kidding? He’ll probably be out in five years.
