LETTER: Regional District candidate thanks supporters, promises to remain an advocate for Area A issues

Dear editor,

Dear editor,

A big thank you to all those people that supported me in my campaign for Area A director, your messages and emails were greatly appreciated.

Although I didn’t win, I had the chance to bring awareness to some very important issues facing this area.

Once your new director (Daniel Arbour) takes office, it will be up to the residents to encourage him to be our champion for protecting our watersheds. Logging should not be allowed around Langley Lake in Union Bay.

With the Union Bay Estates Development underway, the residents need to know soon what the sewage plan will be.

Will it be expandable for the surrounding community as required by the Master Development Agreement with the CVRD? Where will the effluent end up?

I plan to continue to advocate for those who feel these are important issues and welcome your emails.

I’m confident that Director Arbour will focus his attention on these priorities for the residents of Area A as part of his role on the CVRD board.

Congratulations again Daniel. I wish you much success.
