Editor: Re: Let’s say no to a truck route along 216 (The Times, April 6)
People need to be reminded that everything we have or use came by truck.
(Without them, we would have) no cement, lumber, shingles, food, medicine, cars, etc. From the docks, airport or railway, it got there and left by truck.
During the past 45 years in trucking I can’t count the times we have stopped to offer a fire extinguisher, tow rope, phone or CB message for help, blanket or just comfort to someone who has just lost a loved one.
Give the truckers a break. And remember, the only thing in life that didn’t come by truck is a baby.
