Thank you for running Kathy Michaels column (Penticton Western News, Nov. 3, Time to stop enabling creeps) though it is a hard subject to read, the cruelty that some men will treat many women with.
We haven’t advanced very far as a society when bullies have the run of schoolyards and workplaces.
I wish to make clear that not all men are bullies or creeps and we all need to work together to stop bullies and creeps.
I don’t know how unusual my situation is but at school I encountered both female and male bullies. The males were worse, more violent, the females generally just being unkind and teasing but still bullying even if they didn’t realize it or intend it.
Respect for the individual is a failed ideal of many workplaces and it probably needs to be ingrained into elementary school teaching because bullying can occur as early as Grade 3.
If respect for the individual were ingrained in American society, I doubt Donald Trump would have gotten very far in life, never mind becoming president.
