To the editor:
After reading all the pros and cons of the safe injection site, my question is why not put that safe injection site into the new Interior Health building on the corner of Ellis and Doyle? There is lots of empty space that is apparently to be rented as‘retail’ space.
A worker or two will have to be trained in dealing with these overdoses we’ve allbeen hearing about. Why not have a whole building of trained professionals at theready?
They will be supplying the needles for the safe injection site, so why not just have this ‘safe’ site there?
Is there a reason why they don’t want the injection site in their building?
