LETTER: Sale of Stave Falls school is a concern for community

I am moving into this community (Stave Falls) and I am very saddened that the beautiful local school is about to be sold off

I am moving into this community (Stave Falls) and I am very saddened that the beautiful local school is about to be sold off.

Silverdale Elementary is the school that would be my children’s catchment school. I found it to be a long distance from our home. I would have to travel there on average five days a week twice a day. That is a lot of time and money.

I understand that the other local school would be Whonnock Elementary and that it is over capacity already. This is a concern for the whole community. This community is obviously a growing population with a genuine need. I feel that the community has some very valid ideas for the use of the school and its grounds.

This is Mission’s newest school and an absolutely beautiful building a building that holds so much potential for our community.

Please stop the Mission school board from removing it from the community. Please return this land and building to its local people, the community of Stave Falls.
