Letter: Small nuisance crimes will lead to bigger ones

If you are a friend of the criminals, please make that phone call and help your friends by getting them out of smaller trouble now.

To the editor:

Smashing car break-ins near Barnaby Road:

To whomever decided it would be fun to smash in my rear car door triangular window on my beloved, my only vehicle, a 1989 Hatchback:

You may think you are entitled to do whatever you want to other people’s vehicles, but I do not.

You may think it’s no big deal, the car owner is rich, the car owner doesn’t mind spending half the day dealing with ICBC and the repair, but I am not.

You may think that you are only having harmless fun, which will not lead to further and deeper crimes, but that is not true.

You may think that we are not seeing a pattern in the other two break-ins that same night in the same Steele Road/Upper Mission area, and the many other car break-ins that my landlords have had to deal with over the past, but we are.

Please turn yourself in before it is too late. Get yourself out of bigger trouble by admitting these smaller crimes now.

Phone the police regarding crime file # 2014-7497.

P.S. If you are a friend of the criminals, please make that phone call and help your friends by getting them out of smaller trouble now, before they get themselves into bigger trouble later.

It is only a matter of time.
