Editor,
It’s Home Fire Season! How? As the weather warms up and our area dries up, the conditions for fires are good.
Those with wood heat in their homes, your chimney has accumulated creosote and is now ready to ignite. We have already lost one home due to these conditions.
Have your chimney inspected and cleaned now, before it’s too late.
Furthermore, the heater you may have installed under the house, in a shed and/or in the pump house may now be overheating the area and create a fire hazard. Check these things out, disconnect them as their need may no longer be there.
With the warmer weather, combustible liquids left on rags and the sorts will now warm up as decay begins and auto-light.
Check around your home, the dry grasses are very susceptible to light with a spark or even through the sun rays magnified with a piece of glass.
On health, take time to regain your flexibility and strength through stretches and walks and measured efforts. The winter months have eaten at your muscle mass and reduced your strength and stamina. Take it easy, don’t let the great springs days put you in distress with injuries.
Stay fit, stay healthy, enjoy life that spring brings forth.
