According to polling data from the BC Federation of Labour and Insights West, 78 per cent of British Columbians want the provincial government to implement a poverty reduction plan including the majority of voters from all of BC’s political parties. Key components of a poverty reduction plan are targets, timelines, and tangible actions. BC’s provincial government is legislating the targets and timelines. Where we’ve seen so many governments fail from Saskatchewan to Nova Scotia is when it comes to implementing tangible actions.
Let’s hope British Columbia follows through.
