Editor: Langley City volunteers shine even when the sun doesn’t.
The Langley City Terry Fox Run was an wonderful example of the amazing quality of volunteers in Langley.
The sun definitely did not shine on Sunday,Sept. 16, but more than 50 enthusiastic volunteers braved heavy rain to set up, register and guide and cheer on the runners and walkers in this annual cancer research-focused world-wide event.
It is amazing to see the local commitment to this run and the money raised is only possible with the help of the volunteers that spent upward of three hours — in this case in the rain — to make this community event happen.
Thanks also to the support of the City of Langley and the City fire department and a number of local businesses.
Terry’s dream for a cure is alive in Langley.
