Last Friday I was driving from Port Coquitlam to Mission when I ran out of gas about midway between Haney and Mission.
Not knowing the area, I left my car and started to walk to where I thought there was a gas station.
Innumerable cars passed me as I walked and then a man driving a Jeep stopped and asked me where I was walking to. I explained the situation.
He told me to get in his car. He then drove me to Mission, waited until I bought a jerry can and filled it with gas.
Then he drove me back to my car and waited until I had put the gas in the car and started the engine.
I tried to thank him but he waved it off.
All he would tell me was that his name was “Joe” and he said his wife lived in Mission.
Had it not been for his attending generosity, I would have walked for hours seeking a gas station.
I will always be grateful to “Joe” and his wife for their help in my time of need.
And from now on, if I see anybody in need, I will be their “Joe.”
Thank you, Joe, whoever you are!
