To the editor,
When we travel we love to proudly announce, “Oh no, we are Canadians!” We flaunt images of our flag on everything from underwear to thermos mugs. We cheer every sports team on that represents our country.
Why is it then that so many of us show so little respect to our flag.
Look around your communities, local areas and the province. Folks continue to let our Canadian flag hang in various states of disrepair. Sometimes all that is left is one sad, pitiful little faded pinkish strip reminiscent of what was.
Yes, we have wind and sun and cold. That is the nature of our country. However, if you choose to fly our flag it stands for many things…..or should! It is not just garden decor. If you cannot afford to replace it please do it the honour and respect of removing it.
