LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Consultants costly to City of Nanaimo taxpayers

I see from the news that it is the same old same old in regards to consultants, says letter writer

To the editor:

Re: City economic development taking shape, Oct. 15.

Nearly a year after electing a new city council in Nanaimo, I see from the news that it is the same old same old in regards to consultants. Your story on the city economic development corporation noted that “the current council … recently endorsed a consultant’s report recommending the city create an economic development task force” and then that this task force “hire a consulting firm to complete the economic strategy.”

It must be nice (and profitable) to be a consultant for municipal governments these days.
