Letter to the Editor: Election not about budget

Editor: The Chronicle’s March 29 article on the upcoming federal election stressing Jean Crowder’s and the NDP’s opposition to the Conservative budget may have left some readers with the mistaken impression that the non-confidence vote that brought down the Harper government was about the budget. It was NOT. The non-confidence vote occurred because the Conservative government was found to be in contempt of Parliament. This government is off-base not just on budgetary priorities; it is also way off-base on ethics, and thus deserves to be dumped.Bernie JonesChemainus
