To the editor,
I have been following the SNC-Lavalin situation intently. And, simply put, it is my view that this government deliberately put into place a system that allows for legalized bribery. The Attorney General decided not to allow this to happen under her watch. And now the Liberal Party is showing its true colours, which is, ‘play by the old boys’ rules, or you’re out.’
I am firmly on the side of Jody Wilson-Raybould in this situation. And I have absolutely no problem with her taking recordings of her conversations with upper-level government officials. In my opinion, she needed to do this in order to respond to the Liberal spin machine that was working hard to discredit her.
Evident in the recorded conversation is this government’s disdain for all things non-Quebec. The clerk stated that there were issues with “what was happening in Calgary and what-not.” Western Canada and the problems with our resource economy is “what-not,” whereas no stone must be left unturned in order to keep SNC-L (a Quebec entity) happy.
In my opinion this (Liberal) party is over unless J.W.R. takes the helm and becomes leader. But that wouldn’t happen, because J.T. is too addicted to the power, and will never give it up; he’d rather ride the party straight into doom.
