To the editor,
It’s time to think seriously again about our single-use plastic consumption. Single-use makes up 42 per cent of the production of it out there. Microplastics are whirling around in the planet’s air and water environs, and can be found from deep oceans, to the mountain tops, to the Arctic. With human exposure up to 52,000 particles per year, isn’t it time we cut much of it out from our house uses? After using it once, we just send it back out into the environment (or so we think – it is actually in our house, in the air, and in the settled dust.)
