LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Tent city can’t claim victory

The spokesperson for tent city declared a victory. Of what, asks letter writer

To the editor,

Re: Soldiers of Odin confront supporters of Discontent City, Aug. 9.

I’m 16 and work full time at holidays, and I’m pretty confused and this is why:

The spokesperson for tent city declared a victory. Of what? No one was there to fight except them. Tent city got vulgar first; tent city tried to puff up and come forward across the yellow line; tent city decided to hold their rally the same time as tax-paying citizens did. Tent city won nothing.

We had to go try to enjoy what was left of our Sunday before work on Monday. Of course they’re going to outlast us in a standoff – they have nothing else to do.

Also, why did the citizens not get any air time? There were moms and dads, lots of grannies and grandpas out there as well as younger responsible adults. The bikers were there to protect us. Thank God, too – we’ve been attacked, not them.
