To the editor,
Re: New Alberta law would allow province to restrict flow of oil and gas, April 16.
If a cut-off of gas to B.C. caused gas prices to skyrocket it could be beneficial as to less cars and traffic on our roads.
Secondly, and most importantly, a catastrophic oil spill on our beautiful West Coast could never be cleaned up to any extent environmentally and would devastate the B.C. economy. Moreover, any large-scale environmental disaster in any part of Canada would be detrimental to all Canadians.
In truth, it is corporate greed and money power against people who want to live in and leave a legacy of a sustainable environment for their children, grandchildren, and future generations.
Premier Notley and our prime minister’s condolences to the people of B.C. over an inevitable oil spill would be as worthless as their values are now concerning the Kinder Morgan pipeline.
