My suggestion: Provincial Honourables, withdraw your appeal of the court decision. You
broke the contract and got caught. Start there and see where it gets us.
The flawed process begins with a lockout. Insidious decisions, usually corrupt, are made in secret, announced, then carried out with stubbornness and impunity. Unrelenting media spin portrays the people who were locked out as the villians.
All of this constitutes a mockery of the words democracy, deal, bargaining, cutbacks, education, contract, justice, negotiate, etc. We are all getting an education: an exposure of the “Big Lie.”
We desperately need to purge a bully system that “has the legal right” to undermine social services in order to turn British Columbia into an industrial wasteland. I thank the teachers for standing up to it. We should all be standing with them.
I wish teachers, parents, and especially children, strength in this transition time. Maybe the confusion will pass.
