Editor: I’m writing to show my concern and outrage about what our lovely town is turning into.
Langley Township is obviously more concerned about the money they will receive in taxes than what our once beautiful town is beginning to look like.
Shame on you Langley Township for turning our town into a hill of condos and townhomes that are so dense we no longer have privacy, air-cleaning trees or places to walk and enjoy our town.
The monstrosity of a condo building you have accepted to be built at the corner of 72 Avenue and 208 Street is nothing short of disgusting and an eyesore. All of 208 Street south of the freeway already is growing a wall of condos, can you imagine how this is going to look 10-15 years from now?
Using up all of the farmland so you can put precious dollars in your bank account is not acceptable.
Oh, and I haven’t even mentioned Murrayville yet, are you going to continue to let four-story condos to be built there, too? Instead of having a small park area where the elderly can walk their dogs and kids can play you’ve decided to build another cluster of condos and townhomes (48 Avenue and 221 Street).
Say goodbye to any recreational area, turn what was a nice small upscale community into a slum. Way to go, Township.
I moved to Langley when I was five years old and have seen many changes. I understand growth is inevitable, but come on, this is getting ridiculous and ugly. Have members of the Township’s board and planning departments lived here for over 40 years? Do they even live here now and see what they are doing?
Tisk, tisk, Langley Township.
