My friends went ahead, leaving me alone on a narrow part of the trail when I saw a runner fast approaching towards me. He was all in black and making good time.
I was slowly jogging and tried to step out of the way.
I suppose either I didn’t step far enough off the trail as he wanted me to, or I was too slow. He didn’t decrease speed but said ‘f***ing b*tch’ to me twice as he passed me.
Needless to say I was flabbergasted, angry and upset in that order. This has got me to thinking:
1: What if he shoves or pushes or hits next time?
2: What if I was an older person with canes or a young mom with a baby in a kangaroo pouch?
3: Where does he get his sense of entitlement, that others should get out of his way?
4: Who raised him?
I must admit, I did yell ‘a**hole’ at him after he passed me, which I now regret because it could have led to escalation of this sad, stupid situation.
