Vaccination discussion is black and white
Re: “Respect minority rights especially when we disagree”
I have to admit, this headline sounds pretty progressive, but it’s hard to accept given the argument that follows. The problem and discussion about the COVID vaccinations is an extreme binary one. Black or white, no shades of grey and rightfully so. On one side you have the close to 80 per cent vaccinated people, who trust rational thinking, science, math, statistics and the statements of the overwhelming majority of healthcare workers. On the minority side you have the people who are expressing their “opinion”. This term is probably the most useless and meaningless word in the English language. No proof, no accountability, just verbal smoke.
Of course it is your right to reject vaccinations and have your own treatment concept, including injecting hydro chloride, horse medication or trust… and I quote, “the blood of Jesus” to stay healthy. What is not your right is to block the intensive care units across the country, when you actually get really sick from the virus and take away limited space from vaccinated people who need urgent care for heart attacks, cancer, strokes, sepsis and other emergencies. What is not your right is to spread the virus to immune compromised people who cannot get vaccinated. This is actually the real problem here…not your highly rated personal freedom or intolerance.
