Valet bike parking a hit

I was delighted to see that there is a safe place to leave my bike at the Saturday downtown market, it is called valet bike parking.

I think it is time for Penticton to become a bike-friendly city. I mean for the people who live here and want biking to be part of their everyday transport, like shopping and getting from A to B and not just a sports activity.

At the present moment, the bike lanes are up steep hills. The channel way is great except you can’t get your shopping done or get to appointments on that route.

Let’s have a bike lane from lake to lake and that would reduce the downtown traffic problems, especially in the tourist season.

The Apple Plaza doesn’t have anything that you can secure your bike to, I expect there are many more places around town that have the same problem and that is an easy-to-fix problem.

Biking is great for all age groups and it sure helps the environment and the pocketbook, especially now with such high gas prices.
