Dear editor,
Island Health won’t release numbers of cases of COVID-19 in the Valley. They say it’s to respect privacy.
I don’t see how anyone’s privacy is at risk if we’re told how we’re doing – no names or personal information, only numbers with updates.
We need to know if our efforts to isolate and distance are paying off. We have a right to know.
There will be a time-delay, but seeing the curve flatten, as it inevitably shall, will encourage us and bolster our resolve.
Michael Heydon,
Courtenay
