Editor, The Times:
Through this letter I would like to touch base with the community, especially new people who do not know Clearwater has a Rotary club or who wonder, “What is Rotary?”
Clearwater Rotary is a leadership organization and is made up of local business, professional, and civic leaders along with several retirees. Every Wednesday morning, we meet for a breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. sharp at the Wells Gray Inn, Monroe room where we get to know each other, form friendships, and through that we’re able to get things done in our community.
Our calendar has a great project each month which can be of interest to individuals of many walks of life. Rotary does not expect all members to be involved in each project – but of course they can be if they wish – or work on specific projects that appeal to them.
A couple of events coming up shortly are the Rotary Flea Market on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rotary Sports Park. Come out for those favorite hot dogs!
Followed by the May Day Parade on Saturday, May 20 with this year’s theme ’Celebrating the 150 Year Anniversary of Canada.’ Start getting those float ideas ready as we are aiming for a great parade to celebrate Canada! We invite you to be part of the action.
Or why not join our golf tournament on Saturday, June 10? This “FUN” tournament is for anyone from seasoned golfers to first-time golfers. Our best-ball theme allows teams of four to help each other through the day getting from one hole to the next.
If you think you would like to be involved in Rotary or have any questions, please make sure to telephone me at 250-674-2400. Come join us and have fun while supporting your community and Rotary.
