LETTER: Year-round bottle drive helps community members

Metchosin resident thanks community for continued support

Wow, I am totally blown away with the community’s compassion and generosity. I would like to say a big thank you to those who helped me raise more than $3,000 for the young man who is battling cancer. I had a goal of $2,500 in mind and with your help the total passed the goal mark by $600. Both the family and I were moved to tears that we as a community would do that for them. The family was in shock and in disbelief! Thank you again for your contributions from the bottom of my heart.

I would also like to thank you all for your continuing support and for believing in me. In the eight years I have been doing this year-round bottle drive I have donated close to $50,000 to a variety of local animal rescues. All those who have received donations are listed on my website at cookiescrittercare.com if you are curious to see who were the lucky ones.

Moving forward, I invite you to jump aboard the bottle drive and keep my number (250-415-9335) to call me for picups. Here’s to another $50,000 in bottle donations to those deserving, 100 per cent of the donations go directly to the cause.

I wish you a warm and enjoyable Christmas filled with love and wish you all the best and more in the new year.
