LETTER: Young man made her day

Kind act has renewed faith in your generation

Thank you, thank you, Brandon. You have renewed my faith in your generation. What a kind young man you are.

You have inspired me to write to the Record, and to let others know that there are many young hard-working caring and responsible people just like you living in our community. We don’t often hear about goodness that happens. So this is my story to tell.

I am an elderly senior. My husband has an injury, a broken ankle. I needed to pick up a prescription for him and in my haste to get back to him from the Save-On-Foods shopping mall, I inadvertently left my handbag in the shopping cart.

I discovered it missing as I was coming into my driveway. I called my hubby and told him I was going back to try to find it.

I was just on my way when the phone rang and my husband said, “Come back. Your purse is here.” Upon opening my door, I found the young man called Brandon sitting with my husband with my purse in hand. Brandon, not only did you safeguard my possessions and credit cards, you even delivered them to my home with everything intact.

You are amazing, wanting no compensation, only accepting a big hug and thanks from me. You are my hero.
