Keep corporate tax regime competitive
According to the executive report in the Wall Street Journal, Canada has climbed to sixth in the world for economic stability.
For the federal NDP and Liberals who want to slash corporate tax cuts, listen to some international experts.
“The Canadian economy continues to sharpen its long-term competitiveness. Scoring high in many of the 10 economic freedoms, Canada performs particularly well in business freedom, financial freedom, property rights, and freedom from corruption.
“Straightforward regulations and the competitive tax regime facilitate entrepreneurial activity and lure dynamic investment. The corporate tax rate is scheduled to decline further to 15 per cent in 2012.”
Here’s my point: Remember how NDP leader Jack Layton and Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff gushed over U.S. President Barack Obama in 2008. Think about the mess America is in now.
Now realize that Layton and Ignatieff are still planning to do to Canada what Obama has done to America. And they’ll get their chance once they usurp the Conservatives after an election, unless the Conservatives win a majority (or avoid an election entirely).

Metchosin plays Scrooge with Wild ARC
Bah humbug to the four people on Metchosin council who voted against Wild ARC requesting their building permit of $1,800 to be forgiven.
The excuse council used was it did not want to set a precedent. Well the precedent was already set with forgiving of the Metchosin arts council.
Wild ARC does a great service in the whole regional district and is a non-profit as well.
A big thanks to Coun. Jo Mitchell for voting in favour. To the other four — Mayor John Ranns and councillors Bob Gramigna, Moralea Milne and Larry Tremblay — bah humbug.
