We’ve all heard the various stories of how this COVID crisis originated. I’ve not heard of a definitive cause but given the magnitude of the global shut-down, or the quadrillion dollars spent or lost world-wide, it’s time for a better system as we recover and move forward.
This pandemic clearly shows how the possibility of something relatively small, taking place in a remote corner of world can cripple us globally within weeks. Would it not make sense to implement the following steps?
• All countries should need to be registered and forced to regularly report to the World Health Organization (WHO);
• The WHO should be governed and overseen by a committee of experts from democratic countries (with dictatorship or communist countries forced to report);
• All disease contagions or breakouts must be reported and recorded with the WHO;
• Once a new disease, such as COVID-19, is recorded, if there is no known cure or approved drug that can be employed within 24 hours, then that city or country needs to be completely locked-down and isolated to prevent people or goods going in or out, until which time it can be effectively contained and treated.
Hopefully, we recover from this, but what about next time?
