Re: More options than boorish, Oct. 4 letters
Kudos to Noelle Phillips and her well-written letter regarding the man’s poor driving, which could have caused an accident.
Sadly, these types of uncivil incidents occur far too frequently nowadays, especially in South Surrey.
As a pedestrian who also uses a walker on an almost-daily basis, drivers cut me off in a lawfully “pedestrian-go” lane with impunity.
Having grown up in Vancouver and its suburbs, and also being a driver for many years, if someone committed a driving “faux pas” you’d usually get an, “Oh, I’m sorry.” Now you get the finger or a sneer.
Is it due to the over-development out here and the huge influx of people in the area?
They’re all in a hurry to get to the next red light at the same time.
Wouldn’t it be great if the offender from Ms. Phillips’ letter and others who read it would make a concerted effort to be kinder instead of more intimidating.
