This weekend I had the pleasure of attending two exciting playoff hockey games: the Williams Lake Stampeders versus the Terrace River Kings.

Both teams were evenly matched; the games were both decided by a one goal difference.

The teams were going at it “hammer and tongs” throughout both games, including 35 minutes of overtime on Saturday.

They returned to the ice on Sunday at 1:30 after a short duration due to Saturday’s game lasting until almost midnight, and the clock moved ahead one hour.

Again on Sunday, “firewagon hockey” ensued — fast and furious for 60 minutes.

Honour is due to both teams for a valiant effort and sportsmanlike behaviour.

Although I would have preferred a different outcome to the games, I’m confident the community joins me in thanking the Stamps organization: players, staff and volunteers, for enjoyable games, and a commendable season.
