Re: Noisemakers on our payroll, Aug. 29 letters.
Kudos to the letter writer complaining about the polluting and deafening leaf blowers that descend upon us like giant nasty hornets.
People have been so worried about the smoke from forest fires lately, but don’t they realize these horrible machines blow petrol fumes, animal fecal matter dust, fungi, mold spores and bacteria right into our homes and lungs on a regular basis?
I feel sorry for the young people using them, as I worry about their future lung health from breathing petrol fumes.
Whatever happened to brooms? I really doubt they are much slower than these deafening machines, and they would add a modicum of peace and cleaner air to our already noisy, polluted world.
