Feb. 8-12 marks the first ‘Foundations Week’ at Peace Arch Hospital.
This week, Fraser Health is celebrating hospital foundations and their contributions to health care and the communities they serve. After an unprecedented year that saw the residents of South Surrey and White Rock rely on their local hospital more than ever, we pay tribute to the incredibly generous donors that make the work of Peace Arch Hospital Foundation possible. From the funding of critically needed medical equipment ($2.1 million in 2020) to ensuring their hospital can evolve with the updated space and technology it needs to care for patients as best as possible (the new ER and OR will open this year with $38.5 million in Foundation funding), this community’s long history of supporting Peace Arch Hospital has not wavered, even during a life-altering pandemic.
Since 1988, our donors have contributed more than $170 million to health care right here at home. That philanthropic spirit is a reflection of this community’s heart and soul and is a welcome reminder of who we are, especially during these tough times when nothing feels certain.
‘Foundations Week’ may be recognizing Peace Arch Hospital Foundation as a fundraising organization, but it’s our donors who are the true champions and for that, we are so very grateful.
