LETTERS: Emergency vehicles need not always use sirens

I am pleased to report that services rendered by police, fire and ambulance crews 24-7 is very good.

However, there is one thing where I think an improvement could be made, and that is in vehicle noise.

As an example, vehicles from the fire hall proceeding to 16 Avenue, have sirens going while travelling along Marine Drive, when there is no other traffic on that section of road. I’m sure there are other, similar, sections of their travels.

We residents in the area serviced by you would be pleased to learn of an attempt to cut back on siren usage when not required and especially in the 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. time frame.
