LETTERS: Finally time for people, dogs to enjoy waterfront together

I plan to walk my dog daily as I did last winter

Editor:

It’s finally over. After a two-year-long process of consultation, surveys, a trial and task force, White Rock city council has finally decided to allow families to walk with their dogs on the promenade from Oct. 1 to March 31 going forward.

With so many other concerns in the world, I hope this means that we can finally put aside our differences and smile at our neighbours and visitors who bring their pets to enjoy the waterfront.

I plan to walk my dog daily as I did last winter, pick up after others, give a cheerful greeting to everyone I see, and enjoy being able to share the promenade with my neighbours. Hope to see you out there starting Oct. 1.
