RE: Gas Prices up but reason not clear, inquiry finds, Sept. 6

The BC Utilities Commission can’t find the reason for the high cost of fuel? Give me a break.

Have they checked the government’s pockets? The taxes that are added to the fuel is a big addition to the high cost of fuel. The GST, the road tax and transit levy gouge drivers.

Where does it go? What does it do? I have seen signs on road ways saying, “Line painting Aug. 21 to Sept. 31” and I have not seen one line painted yet and the signs are now gone.

They said at one time, that the stations themselves set the prices, too. That’s probably why the prices can change hourly.

The government has so many fingers in the fuel, why can’t they help regulate the cost? Maybe that’s not be a good idea – look how they regulate ICBC.
