From my window I can see four large cranes working on their respective projects.
They are ugly and the skyline of White Rock is becoming so, as well. This is our legacy from the previous municipal administration.
It is an encouraging sign that the present council has the backbone to put the brakes on some of this development (City ‘hits pause button’ on highrises, Nov. 9). Enough already!
Years ago, I wrote a letter to PAN predicting just what’s happening now (Sustaining the unsustainable, April 16, 2013). Bigger isn’t always better. When we moved here it was an ideal community, but it is now quickly going the way of our neighbour, Richmond.
Glass and chrome – and lots of it – seem to be the order of the day.
