Don Henley’s July 13 concert at the South Okanagan Events Centre was, in a word, excellent.
Both in the musical artistry of Henley and his 15 band members and also in the sound system.
It is rare for me not to use earplugs at a rock concert, and this was one time I didn’t need them.
Kudos to the sound mix crew, headed by Tom Evans from Manchester, UK, who has also provided concert sound for Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Snow Patrol and others.
After the concert I went over and thanked Tom for the great job he and his crew did. As we were talking, other people leaving the floor area came over and congratulated Tom for the superb sound.
Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear but not require earplugs.
