Dear Editor,
I want to send out a big thank-you to all who stopped and asked if they could help me in any way or lend me their cell phones, I truly appreciated it.
I also can’t believe it, but I think around 12 or so people actually stopped.
I was in my old ’66 “standard†panel truck, and managed to get two of the three gears jammed together (don’t ask me how). I tried to get them unhooked but I couldn’t.
A very nice fellow even got under my truck and tried to unhook them, but to no avail. He let me call my hubby and I waited patiently for him to arrive.
Now you might think that what happened was no big deal, and to some it wouldn’t be, but my hubby had given me a lesson on how to untangle those gears (which was 40 years ago), and I truly forgot the trick to it.
I was given the lesson again today, and hopefully I’ll remember for next time.
For the people who stopped, they really remembered their lessons of how to help others – the ones they must have been taught when they were young.
