Cyclists: Please bell or yell!

As a regular walker on Langley and Surrey trails – and an avid cyclist – it astounds me how many cyclists refuse to warn people when they’re coming up from behind.

Perhaps you have no idea how quiet your bikes are, but for everyone’s safety, please allow us the chance to get ourselves – and our dogs – out of your way.

Please use common sense, and when you’re 20 to 30 feet away from someone who can’t see you, either ring your bell, or yell “on your left.”

Teach your kids the “bell or yell” rule, too, please.

And when we do move out of your way and make our dogs sit until you pass, a “thank you” would be nice.
