LETTERS: Mixed message of COVID restrictions frustrating, confusing

On Monday, Dec. 7, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced that COVID lockdown measures in B.C. will continue at least until Jan 8, 2021, with some enhancements.

While I have, and continue to, support these measures in the hope that one day COVID-19 will be a thing of the past and we can get back to enjoying life with family and friends, I am confused by the mixed messaging.

I have since walked by the South Surrey Recreation and Arts Centre, and seen that the gym is still open for business.

So it appears to me that I cannot visit with my children and grandchildren or participate in worship at my church over Christmas, but I can go to the gym and work out with a bunch of strangers?

I now understand why some people continue to do what they feel is best for them.
