It’s no wonder that Brenda Parkinson was returned to Sooke council with the largest number of votes for any councillor.
She is visible at many of the events that occur in Sooke: the Philharmonic orchestra concerts, RCMP musical ride and many others that we attend.
I have no opinion on her civic duties, but her energy outside those might give a clue as to her effectiveness on council.
I can’t recall seeing any other councillors at any events except for the mayor who, coincidentally, was also returned.
A small thing perhaps, but, I think, effective.
